This is a double hull fiberglass catboat that is a Gunter rig at full sail and a gaff rig when reefed. I have made numerous improvement including a hinged mast installed by Marshall Marine (Massachusetts) in cooperation with Everett Engineering which makes set up and take down fast and convenient for one person.
Ablative bottom paint by Kingfisher craftsmen 2016 with boot stripe and green topside paint. Minor chips and dings from dock.Custom marine plywood cubby coaming and cover. Custom steel outboard motor mount. Mast and spars painted 2 years ago. Original sail with american flag logo in good shape, has small patch near clew from abrasion. Marshall marine bungee cord sail lashing system keeps sail tidy when not in use.
New trailer purchased 2019. New CNC steel centerboard 2020 with tapered trailing edge and curved leading edge. Robust clutches for adjusting halyards. Self-bailing cockpit.
Home made jiffy reefing system does the job.
Cosmetic issues – you may want to sand and stain or varnish the bench seats and other woodwork. This boat is a lot of fun to sail with a spacious cockpit for 2-6 adults. Mostly freshwater use on lake Chelan. Salish 100 finisher 2019.
Bobs like a cork on Bellingham bay and has been out in 0-30 knot conditions and is well mannered when reefed, but is best suited for protected waters. Sails at 5-7 knots. Suitable camp cruiser with some creative engineering to form a sleeping platform.
Basically a simple fun boat to sail, weighs about 900 pounds. I’m moving on to a sloop rig with a cubby cabin or a bigger catboat with a cubby, haven’t decided.
