Pocket Yachter Trips

Cast off the lines and go somewhere

Owning a small boat (or having a friend with one!) gives you the opportunity to see new places that aren’t available to most folks. Whether it’s that small island in the bay barely larger then five square feet at high tide, or floating down the river enjoying a warm sunny afternoon, or even picking blackberries at the lake while carefully balanced standing in your boat, you have access to experiences both big and small.

Here you’ll find one or two previous trips some of our members have taken, ideas for future cruises that some of us are considering, and pictures from on the water. We’d love to hear from you on the trips you’ve taken, and we’re always looking for more folks to go on trips with us!

Trip planning for the 2027 cruising season
The Seattle chapter of the pocket yachters have started thinking about what our unofficial-official cruise list might look like for next season. Although we are all getting off into our boats whenever we can, we like to put a couple of stakes in the ground for a few larger trips where we can plan ahead and invite as many as are willing to go.
Pelican Camping Trip to Cypress Head
It was a pleasant little trip. A pleasant trip that I and friend undertook two weeks ago in my trusty little Pelican. Not a grand adventure like the Ross Lake trip. Nor an ambitious one like the 30 mile round trip excursion from Lund to Tenedos Bay and back.
